Cotton-type High Tenacity Fibers

The first product manufactured by Savis Textile Company is cotton-type high tenacity fibers (100% virgin). With an annual production capacity of over 17,000 tons of fibers and utilizing modern machinery and advanced laboratory equipment, the company is able to meet customer demands in spinning, nonwoven, apparel, and carpet industries.

Polyester fibers, like other synthetic fibers, are produced through industrial methods and, in terms of properties, serve as a suitable substitute for natural cotton fibers.

For the production of this product, dimethyl terephthalate and monoethylene glycol or terephthalic acid are combined in the presence of appropriate catalysts. The polymer resulting from the combination of these two raw materials is pumped through spinneret plates, where it is transformed into fibers under the influence of cold air. The fibers are then gathered into bundles and, in subsequent stages, undergo drawing and thermal processes, which align the molecular structure and stabilize the fibers thermally. Finally, they are cut into staple fibers of desired lengths and baled.

The company’s products, depending on customer orders, can be manufactured for various spinning processes such as ring, vortex, and open-end, with specifications including deniers of 1 to 1.5 and cut lengths of 32, 38, 51, 64, 96, and 100 millimeters, available in different colors. They can also be used in blends with viscose or cotton fibers in various proportions.

Applications of Synthetic Fibers

  1. Textile Industry: Polyester is one of the most widely used fibers in the production of fabrics and textiles.
  2. Automotive Industry: Polyester is used in the production of seat covers, carpets, and other interior components of automobiles.
  3. Household Products: This fiber is applied in the manufacture of household items such as sofa covers, curtains, and carpets.
  4. Medical Industry: Polyester fibers are also used in the production of certain medical equipment such as surgical sutures and bandages.
  5. Filter Production: Due to their good filtration properties, these fibers are used in the manufacture of air and water filters.

These are only part of the diverse applications of synthetic polyester fibers, which highlight the importance of this material in various industries.
